about
With her debut single, monosolenum, dolomea emerges from the depths of dub and ambient techno.
While fusing electronic sounds with field recordings she manages to create a mental landscape of sonics, which is rich in detail but on a very subtle level.
Natural noises of rain and wind and heavily delayed and reverbeded dub stabs serve as a fraim, while sounds drift in and out around these constants. The kick slowly propels the rhythm while the bassline cyclically moves around it as if it could not function without the given pulse.
The monotony is interrupted from time to time by a delayed clap that brings you back to an attentive state. And once you have arrived there, you can linger for a while and observe that much more is happening than expected. Elements from microhouse come to the surface, are reflected in their image and blur with the overall picture. dolomea's alienated voice buzzes around you, but can't be grasped completely before it disappears again. And finally the high melody, which emerges in the course of the track, lets you disappear again into the atmospheres of the track.
